Is Quartz Better Than Granite Countertops?

Granite is viewed as one of the most used natural stone in kitchen countertops. Granite is always used because it is known for its durability and timeless appeal. Granite has twenty shades that you can use, and all of them are nothing but visually-stunning.

In terms of durability, granite is a stone that is relatively resistant to daily wear and tear. Granite also has excellent heat resistance that it can take high temperatures without being damaged. However, a new wave of buyers is on a new trend of buying new material, and that material is quartz. Quartz, just like granite, also possesses these capabilities.

Just like all stones, granite also has its downsides. Most buyers observed that granite could have a few problems if not installed correctly or if the sealant wears off without the counters being released. And because of granite’s porosity, poorly-installed granite can absorb liquids like water, wine, juice, oil, and others that could produce irremovable stains.

Yes, granite is durable, but if you put a heavy object near its corners, there is a high chance that it will suffer damages such as chips and cracks. Granite is also known to be pricey, unlike its alternative.
